Avinash Story

I was playing in a football game, running down the field, when I jumped for a header. I landed awkwardly, and I felt a sudden pop in my knee. I knew something was wrong. I couldn’t bear weight on my knee, and it felt like it was going to give out on me.

The pain was intense, and I couldn’t move my knee without feeling a sharp ache. I was helped off the field, and my coach called for an ambulance. I was taken to the hospital, where I had an MRI that confirmed my worst fears: I had torn my ACL.

The road to recovery was surprising . I was reluctant to surgery so consulted more than 10 consultants and finally one of my friend suggested for Dr Vikas Gupta. I told him that I don’t want surgery. So he was suggested to try once Arthrokinetic therapy and referred to Dr Amar who is expert in it. So I was started sessions with him in feb2020. On 13th session he had started full squat and running. Finally after 1 week that was 19th last session he called me for follow up and asked to come after playing football. Thank god I was fine. While every consultant suggested that It will took nine months.

But I finally started to feel like myself again. I began to run and jump without pain, and I was able to return to playing football . I don’t need to wear a knee brace for support, but I’m grateful to be back on the field.

Looking back, I wish I had taken more precautions to prevent the injury. I had been playing through some minor knee pain for a while, and I think that might have contributed to the tear. But I’ve learned from my experience, and I’m more careful now.

“I’m grateful for the support of my family, friends, and medical team. They helped me through a tough time, and I’m proud of myself for persevering.”
