I couldn’t fully extend my arm, and even simple tasks like shaking hands or lifting light objects became challenging.

After seeing several doctors, I was diagnosed with elbow contracture and calcification a condition where the joint becomes stiff and scarred. My doctor recommended elbow arthrolysis, a surgical procedure to release the scar tissue and remove calcifications to restore range of motion.

I was nervous about surgery, but I couldn’t keep living with the pain and limited mobility. The procedure was done, with small incisions.

As in last operation Recovery was tough and not achieved movement so I was quite scared. This time doctor suggested for Arthrokinetic therapy and referred to Dr Amar. This time I followed his instructions carefully and started sessions from 5th week of surgery.I had to wear a splint to keep my elbow straight and perform exercises to regain flexibility. In 2 weeks I was able to do pushups and regain my normal movement and strength.

It not took several months, but surprisingly I started to notice huge improvements. My elbow wasn’t as painful, and I could move it more freely. I was eventually able to return to cricket after 2 months of surgery , which was a huge victory for me.

Looking back, I wish I had sought right rehabilitation attention sooner. I might have avoided some of the scar tissue buildup and stiffness. But I’m grateful for the successful surgery and rehab, which have given me a new lease on life.

I can now enjoy cricket without pain, and I’ve even started taking lessons to improve my game. Arthrokinetic therapy was a game-changer for me.

Injury Details:

Condition: Elbow contracture and calcification (stiffness and scarring in the joint)

Cause: elbow fracture

Symptoms: Pain, stiffness, limited range of motion, inability to fully extend arm

Treatment: Elbow arthrolysis (surgical release of scar tissue)

Recovery Time: two months, including Arthrokinetic therapy

I’ve always been an avid cricketer, but after one accident, followed by surgery I noticed my elbow was getting stiffer and more painful while I had taken more than 7 months physiotherapy.
